Jessica Van Cleave, MA, LPC, NCC
Supporting others in obtaining peace and balance is a life-long passion that drives my practice. As someone that has struggled with anxiety before even knowing what it was, I am very thankful to have found support along the way. I also respect the awkward and uncomfortable feeling that comes when asking for help.
As an oldest child, mom and Army veteran I find it much more natural caring for others and feeling the weight of responsibility to put their needs first. Learning that self-care is not actually selfish has been mind-blowing…. I mean really, who knew?
I am a board-certified professional counselor licensed in the state of Michigan. I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors degree - Boiler Up! I received my Masters degree from Spring Arbor University.
My clinical experience includes many years focused on managing; anxiety, trauma, career counseling, substance abuse along with learning to set boundaries and communicate effectively.
In my spare time I love to travel, attend live comedy shows, play cards- who doesn’t love a little friendly competition, and endlessly browsing TJ MAXX.
I strongly value continuing education, exceeding state and national requirements every year. In addition to annual conference, some of my training highlights include;
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBT (2014)
Global Career Development Facilitator, GCDF (2015)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, EMDRIA approved EMDR (2018)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (2019)
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (2020)
